About "Southern"
Founded in 1899, the Southern Dental Society of New
Jersey is the professional organization for dentists
practicing in the New Jersey counties of Burlington,
Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem.
The object of the Society is to encourage lay interest
in public dental healthy welfare, to cultivate the art
and science of dentistry, to sustain and elevate the
character and goodwill of the profession, and to promote
health education, research, and study for mutual improvement.
The Society, which is a component of the New Jersey Dental
Association and the American Dental Association is governed
by a board of directors elected annually by the members.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month,
September through May.
The president and officers of the Society encourage all
members to participate in the activities of Southern
to the fullest extent possible. Members derive a wide
variety of benefits, including continuing education,
networking, peer review, publications and promotion of
the profession. Members also benefit from the Society’s
active representation of organized dentistry in the political
and regulatory arenas. |
